On Friday, May 6th, we, as in Mom, John Serice's little sister Ashley, and I hope you the reader will join us for dinner at Sara's Restaurant in the Riverbend area at 724 Dublin Street around 7:30 p.m. For diehard locals that is behind where the A & P used to be on South Carrollton almost to St. Charles Avenue.

My good friend Ganesh is the owner and chef. The front dining room is reserved for us. We can choose whom we wish to sit with and will take care of the checks on a per table basis.
I will also be celebrating Willie Mays' 80th birthday.

After dinner we will be in the midst of Bruno's, Cooter Brown's, Fat Harry's, the Mayfair, the Columns and other places we used to haunt should we care to indulge ourselves further.
Nothing is scheduled for Saturday during the day so feel free to do whatever you want.
The St. Martin's Spirit's Party starts at 7 p.m. in the Van Slate yard. This includes free beer, wine, soft drinks, Lucky Dogs and usually crawfish. Naturally, decorum dictates that we arrive at the earliest "sociably late."
I will be at my "local pub" around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening. The place is called The Mill and reminds me of a smaller Cooter Brown's from many, many years ago before Cooter's decided to try to become "classy."
